Eurowind Energy, a Danish developer, investor and operator of wind and solar assets has recently incorporated a new subsidiary in Portugal, to enter the Southern European market, namely, Portugal, Spain, France and Italy.
The company was incorporated in Oporto, in partnership with Pedro Pereira, an experienced executive with 8+ years of experience in Solar, both in Europe and in the North America Regions.
At this regard, Mr. Pereira, who has been appointed Eurowind Energy’s Managing Director for the Southern Europe, commented that “I’ve known Eurowind Energy for quite some time now and we’ve done good business together in the past. I’ve always respected them for their honesty, transparency and pragmatism in doing business – all values that I share – so I’m excited to join the team and hopefully add even more value going forward”.
To this point, Jens Rasmussen, CEO and main shareholder of Eurowind Energy A/S also stated that “We have been screening the Southern European markets for some time now, but until now we haven’t been able to find the right profile to open the markets for us. After our initial talks with Pedro Pereira we were convinced that we found the right professional match to execute our strategy in Portugal, France, Spain and Italy.”
Eurowind Energy has recently taken over 177MW of wind assets from Global Wind Power, reaching to more than 700MW under management and making it the largest asset manager of onshore wind energy projects in Denmark.
The company is already actively working on potential project acquisitions in the Southern Europe and is looking for attractive wind and solar projects in this region, ideally under development stage.
